My husband took the beautiful photograph of the hummingbird that graces the top of this page. He is a devoted lover of birds and all critters, of flowers and all plants. He is magic in the garden, and grew the tithonia flowers that the hummingbird is drawn to in the photo. The plants seem to commune with him in an unusual way. He knows what they need and provides it. I too, love to plant and have my hands in the dirt. It’s a large part of what brought me here to the Northern Catskills where I was able to afford a few acres to simply relish and breathe and garden. However, I recognize a greater soul than I in my husband’s connection with nature. I learn from him often and still get my hands dirty despite his humbling (to me) alignment with the plant realm.
