At Findhorn, an intentional community in Scotland founded in 1962, a practice of communing/consulting with and inquiring of plant devas was developed. A plant deva, as I understand it, is the supreme being of a specific plant. The deva of a daisy can provide assistance and information for, as well as receive love and recognition from, the lover of the daisy who reaches out for infomation.
In the past several years I have been using a similar concept to address issues with animals and insects who I want to communicate with. It started with the bees that we kept. They would sometimes be agitated when my husband and I went to inspect the hives, and when they were, we more often came away with stings. After my husband started to show signs of a developing allergy, I reached out to the queen bees telepathically each time we put on our suits. I let ech queen know we were coming to her hive and what we would do there (check honey supply before the winter, check for mites, put on another hive box, etc.). Since I started this, the stings have barely been an issue.
Since then I have been successful in contacting with what I think of as animal and insect devas. I journey to them, recognize them respectfully, and generally ask them to stay off our property or out of our home. I let them know we will not harm their family of beings if they cooperate, and I ask for guidance in supporting their departure and drawing a firm line. In one case I was guided to sing a specific balancing song as I walked our property boundaries sprinkling raw oats, and a specified herb as well as a spice. That was a big task! More recently, I was advised to roll up and sweep under the mat on our back porch.
The result has been amazing. This is the kind of thing my mother might have done when I was growing up, and I would roll my eyes and internally question her mental balance.
But here I am, discovering I don’t have to kill anything/anyone to sustain a sanitary and enjoyable home! (I do trap bees and spiders and bring them outside, but earwigs? …this method worked great!)
Gratitude to Findhorn and to Dorothy Luella Klug Allen – my kind and independently thinking mother.
Sorry about the eye rolls mom.
Its coincidental that you posted about this. I also made an arrangement with spiders in particular to stay out of my home, my vehicle, and my office and I would be willing to share my porches and yard with them if they hung out in corners, not dropping from above me or running across my feet, etc. For the most part it has worked, but not 100% Thank you for this post!!! Linda

Thank you for your comment Linda. I love hearing about synchronicity AND learning about the experience of others.
